Space weather refers to the environmental conditions in space that can affect various technologies and systems on Earth and in space. These conditions are primarily driven by the sun's activity, including solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and other events that release high-energy particles and radiation into space.

We provide Accurate and Near Real Timely Information about Space Weather
to a wide range of stakeholders, including universities and researchers
who rely on our Space-based Technologies.

We provide forecasts of space weather conditions, including geomagnetic storms, solar radiation storms, and other events that can affect satellites, power grids, and other technologies.

Solar flares can emit intense X-rays that can damage or disrupt high-frequency radio waves, causing what is known as Radio Blackout Storms, and Solar Energetic Particles can penetrate satellite electronics and cause electrical failure.

Another space weather event is Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), which can lead to Geomagnetic Storms at Earth, and induce additional currents in the ground that can negatively affect the operations of power grids. Geomagnetic storms can also alter the signal from radio navigation systems, including GPS and GNSS, causing reduced accuracy. Moreover, geomagnetic storms are also responsible for the stunning aurora displays seen in the polar regions.

We are currently approaching the next solar maximum, which is predicted to occur in 2025.

Given that our reliance on technology and space continues to grow with each passing year, the risks associated with space weather are also increasing. This makes it all the more important to have accurate and reliable information about space weather conditions and their potential impacts on critical infrastructure and systems.
